Ultra-DENCO® (CRAH)

Description

Ultra-DENCO® Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) are suitable for air conditioning server rooms, small to large data centres, UPS or other technical rooms that have year-round air conditioning requirements. The devices offer high area-specific performance, high efficiency, and low energy consumption. They are appealing due to high-quality components such as EC fans, powerful heat exchangers and a modern control system.

Product Description:

Ultra-DENCO® was specially designed for the performance and efficiency requirements of data centres, as well as server rooms, UPS and technical rooms. Due to the structure in 2 separate delivery units (heat exchanger and fan chamber), which can be stacked on top of each other on the construction site, a total height of almost 2.6 m can be achieved while at the same time being easy to bring into buildings with standard door heights. The enormous space available in the 1960 mm high upper delivery unit is used to the maximum by the diagonally arranged hydrophilically coated heat exchanger. This maximises performance per footprint (kW/m²) and minimises energy consumption for airflow caused by pressure losses. Heat exchanger variants are available for small temperature differences (e.g. 7/12 °C or 10/16°C) or large temperature differences (e.g. 20/30 °C). Even at higher system temperatures high cooling capacities are achieved.

1 to 4 EC fans with or without APFC (electronic harmonic filter) of the latest generation from are recognised quality supplier are used. The arrangement directly behind the discharge grille results in particularly energy-efficient operation since pressure losses on the discharge side are reduced by eliminating additional diversions.

The device is particularly suitable for rooms with floors voids. In this application, the fan section remains below the false floor and serves as a base stand for the heat exchanger section. Various raised floor heights can be implemented. An application without a floor void is also possible without any problems, as the fan section is equipped with an all-round protection against intrusion. Alternatively, the air can be blown out only to the front or only to the rear. The water connections can be made from below, from the front or from the side.

Ultra-DENCO® represents a particularly flexible and future-proof system, since a connection to a wide variety of cooling systems is possible via the chilled water circuit. As a system solution, FläktGroup offers suitable chillers for indoor (FGWC/GLWC) or outdoor installation (FGAC), as well as chillers with an integrated free cooling function (FGFC/GLFC). Furthermore, heat recovery can be realised with the help of 4-pipe heat pumps HeaMo (FGAS), so that the waste heat from the cooling process can be used as heating energy for heating the building free of charge.

A major advantage is that no refrigerant is used in the installation room since the energy is transported solely via the chilled water circuit. Thus, the choice of refrigerant and the refrigerant charge depends solely on the independent refrigeration system, which is usually installed outside. In addition, chillers and Ultra-DENCO® precision air conditioning cabinets can be replaced independently of one another as part of retrofit measures.

An electronic pressure-independent control valve with Ultra-sonic volumetric flow measurement is available as an option. Various types with fail safe function and energy monitoring can be selected. The control accuracy is +/- 5% with water or +/- 10% with water-glycol. The valve is fitted and wired inside the casing to shorten installation times. The valve can be used to control the supply temperature.

Quality brand EC fans are equipped. The fans are available with or without Active Power Factor Correction (APFC). The fans can be speed controlled on volume flow, pressure or return temperature.

Built-in device controller combined with high-resolution 4.3 inch graphic display. Special software is used that meets the special requirements of data centers. For example, it is possible to control return air and supply air temperatures simultaneously. There is quick access to the device status, temperatures, humidity in graphic form and current and past alarms.

FläktGroup Chiller with or without free-cooling are available to complete the system. Extra high medium temperatures allow the use of indirect free cooling during a long period of the year. In addition, heat recovery can be achieved with the help of a heat pump, so that the waste heat from the cooling process can be used as a heat source for heating adjacent rooms or for feeding into district heating systems.
