Product description
Fresh Breeze FFU units may be used as independent laminar airflow units or to cover the entire ceiling area to create large-area laminar airflow fields, protecting products or processes.
- Fresh Breeze fan-filter unit (FFU) operating principle:
A motor fan draws supply air from the top of the casing (optionally through a pre-filter and/or cooling coil) and pushes it through a high-efficiency filter located at the bottom of the casing, providing laminar or low-turbulence airflow.
Fresh Breeze units are produced in two basic sizes:
- FB 12 (600 x 1200 mm) 1160 m3/h
- FB 14 (1200 x 1200 mm) 2330 m3/h
The casing is made of:
- aluminium
- aluminium painted in RAL 9010
Filters offer includes HEPA filters in an aluminum frame 104 mm high. The filter features a gel gasket and protective grid on its clean air side. The filters are available in following filtration classes:
- H13
- H14
- U15
Outlets are available in three design versions:
- perforated steel sheet in white paint finish (RAL 9010)
- perforated stainless steel electrochemically brushed
- swirl outlet, made of painted steel sheet (RAL 9010) – for Fresh Breeze with cooling
Fresh Breeze is available in two variants:
- ERP – basic version
- ERQ – basic version + integrated pressure controller to maintain constant air-flow volume
Fresh Breeze ERP unit is equipped with an EC motors with integrated electronics, which can be controlled via:
- 0-10 V signal or PWM (pulse-width modulation) signal from a master control system. PWM is a pulsating signal with a constant 10 V amplitude. Control is provided through the change of the signal’s duty cycle. The PWM frequency range is between 1 and 10 kHz.
- MODBUS-RTU protocol
Fresh Breeze ERQ has a similar construction as ERP unit, but it contains a pressure controller with integrated pressure sensor (DPC310). The controller has two possibilities for setting speed levels for night and day. The unit is fitted with a special pressure sampling nozzle. The controller changes the speed of the motor to maintain the required pressure difference corresponding to particular air-volume parameters.
Depending on which control method is chosen following number of Fresh Breeze units can be connected:
- Wall control panel FB-CP – 1 unit
- Wall control panel FBG-CP – up to 9 units
- MODBUS-RTU protocol – up to 247 units (in conjunction with RS485 repeaters)
It is possible to control units via EC Control (ebm) software installed on the computer.
Optional accessories:
- pre-filter G4
- 2-row cooling coil operated in condensation-free mode (pipes and fins are made of copper, the casing is made of stainless steel)
- soft wall (PVC strips, curtain) to maximize the laminar air-flow zone
- ceiling fixation elements – special ledges for fixation on a grid of cassette ceiling or a peripheral frame that hides an opening in a panel ceiling

Casing
Casing made from aluminum sheet (powder-paint finish in RAL 9010 is optional) semi-matt allowing low weight, good resistant to corrosion and a particle-rejecting surface.

Control
Use wall control panels or EC Control software to control Fresh Breeze units. Wall control panel FB-CP (controls 1 unit) enables switching on/off, setting fan speed, activates day & night modes, signals of HEPA and pre-filter exchange and fan alarm. Wall control panel FBG-CP (allows to control up to 9 units) enables switching on/off, setting fan speed, activates day & night modes and fan alarm.

Soft wall (curtains)
To minimize turbulences the use of a soft wall (e.g. PVC curtains) is recommended along the borders of the laminar air-flow field. Soft walls are necessary to maximize the laminar air-flow zone. Soft wall is available as soft wall strips with antistatic finish, thickness = 2 mm, width = 200 mm

Outlets are available in three design versions: perforated steel sheet in white paint finish (RAL 9010), perforated stainless steel, electrochemically brushed or a swirl outlet, made of painted steel sheet (RAL 9010) – for Fresh Breeze with cooling.
